We are no longer taking appointments for the 2022 tax season. Our team is currently wrapping up operations and filing extensions. Our sincerest apologies for this, but please email us at terptax@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thank you for your understanding!

Before you schedule: Determine your filing status as this will determine what documents will be necessary for you to complete your appointment. When you have scheduled your appointment, you will be shown the list of required documents for both Residents and Alien Non-Residents. You can also find those lists by clicking HERE

What is Your Filing Status?

Please note that F-1/J-1 visa students are treated as resident aliens for tax purposes in their 6th year in the U.S. and they should be present in the U.S. for more than 183 days in this tax year. (e.g. if you came to the US in 2018, you will be treated as a resident alien for this year, which is tax year 2023). J-1 visa scholars/trainees are treated as resident aliens in their 3rd year in the U.S. If you are uncertain as to whether you are a resident or nonresident, please contact us at terptax@gmail.com or mslc@rhsmith.umd.edu to confirm your residency status.
